UFC BJJ 13: 86 Seconds, Two Brothers, Two Belts

It took William Tackett 86 seconds to become a UFC BJJ champion. It took the Tackett family one night to make history.

UFC BJJ 13: 86 Seconds, Two Brothers, Two Belts

UFC BJJ 13 hit the Meta APEX in Las Vegas on October 29 with two vacant belts on the line and a card stacked with finishes. Six of nine matches ended in a tap. But the main event is the one everyone's going to be rewinding.

How every match ended

William Tackett def. Jay Rodriguez, RNC, R1 1:26. JRod got the double leg. Tackett got the back. That's the whole story. New middleweight champ, and he and brother Andrew are the first siblings to hold UFC BJJ belts at the same time.

Jalen Fonacier def. Kleber Barbosa, unanimous decision. Fifteen minutes and a new bantamweight champ for the belt Mikey Musumeci left behind.

Nicky Rodriguez def. Nata Tenca, arm-triangle, R3 3:07. Finished from mount after Tenca ate a stalling deduction.

Ffion Davies def. Jaine Fragoso, arm-triangle, R1 2:07. Swept, mounted, choked. Clean.

Jasmine Rocha def. Karen Antunes, armbar, R1 0:38. Fastest finish of the night. Antunes said she slapped, not tapped. Replay said otherwise.

Liam Crelinsten def. Seilkhan Bolatbek, heel hook, R2 1:26. Now 2-0 in UFC BJJ and BIG little Crelinsten is asking for a title shot.

Tristan Sainz def. David Weintraub,RNC, R1 4:53. Finish in his debut.

Pat Downey def. Ian Daube, unanimous decision.

João Nicolite def. Martin Gonzalez, unanimous decision. His first UFC BJJ win.

The takeaway

Tackett said it best after the main event: "Take the chance, get the sub, or die trying."

That's what this card was. Six submissions, two new champions, and a main event that proves you can't just get the takedown. You have to keep it.
